Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh Released from Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, political prisoners in Evin prison was released after serving seven years in prison on June 3, 2016.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on June 3, 2016, Seyed Mostafa Tajzadeh, a senior member of the Islamic Revolution Mujahedin Organization and Participation Front, was released from Evin prison by the end of his sentence.
Mostafa Tajzadeh was arrested after the Iranian presidential elections in 2009 and was charged with “gathering and colluding in order to disturb the national security” and “propaganda against the regime”. Then he was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment by branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Salvati; this sentence was upheld by an appeals court.
Mr. Tajzadeh was accused of “propaganda against the regime” by the Revolutionary Guards during his imprisonment because of the critical letters he had written from the prison to the supreme leader. Mr. Tajzadeh announced this closed court illegal and refused to attend the trial and Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court presided by judge Moghiseh sentenced him to one year of imprisonment for this case. Yet he was not released by the end of his prison term, on the supposed date of April 17, 2015.
