The Praying Hall of Sunnis of Asadieh Sealed

HRANA News Agency – The prayer hall of Sunni citizens in Asadiyeh in Southern Khorasan was sealed due to not having a permission. This is while basically no permission is being issued for new prayer halls anymore.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), despite the high population of Sunni citizens in Southern Khorasan province, practicing the Sunni religious rituals in places like mosques and prayer halls is becoming even harder.
Considering that no permission is being issued for places like mosques and praying halls in the region, Sunni citizens are using home-praying halls, but even this is not tolerated.
In the last case, the praying hall of Sunni citizens in Asadiyeh was sealed by the court’s order. Following this action people prayed outside the praying hall.
A resident of this city told HRANA’s reporter, “Yesterday the court’s order was issued for sealing the mosque of Sunni citizens of Asadiyeh, because of not having permission”.
This Sunni citizen continued, “Following this action, people of this region practiced their noon and afternoon prayers outside of the hall”.
This source emphasized that “because no new permission to Sunni citizens of this city is being issued, people desperately convert their homes to mosque, although majority of the population are Sunnis”.
