Mohammad Sadigh Kaboodvand Transferred Urgently to the Hospital

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Sadigh Kaboodvand, journalist and human rights activist, was transferred to Taleghani hospital in an emergency case, following deterioration of his condition due to hunger strike.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Sadigh Kaboodvand, imprisoned journalist and head Kurdistan Human Rights Organization who has started his hunger strike despite suffering from different diseases, in protest to the new cases that are being fabricated for him, since May 8, was transferred to Taleghani hospital after deterioration of his condition.
It should be mentioned that Mohammad Sadiq Kaboudvand is suffering from several diseases, including cardiovascular disease and prostate which he has got in the prison and hunger strike is very damaging for him and can put his health and life in danger.
Mohammad Sediq Kaboudvand has been arrested and imprisoned since July 1, 2007. He was tried in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran with charges of acting against the national security through founding and managing Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and for propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he was sentenced to one year imprisonment so he has been sentenced to a total of eleven years imprisonment. The sentence of 10 years imprisonment for founding the organization, was confirmed by Branch 56 of the Appeal Court of Tehran province.
The case relating to the activities of the journalists who was sentenced to one year of imprisonment, 5 years being banned from journalism, and cancellation of the publication license of “Payam e Mardom”, on charges of disturbing the public opinion by posting contents on “Payam e Mardom” weekly, by the Public and Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, was reduced to 6 month imprisonment by the Supreme Court, after being confirmed by the appeal Court of Tehran province.
Mohammad Sadiq Kaboudvand is currently held in ward 350 of Evin prison.
