Judiciary Authorities Reject Ayat Mehrali Beyglu’s Parole Request

HRANA News Agency – The Judiciary authorities rejected to give parole to Ayat Mehrali Beyglu after serving a third of his sentences.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ayat Mehrali Beyglu, imprisoned civil activist in Tabriz prison, who has been held in prison from early 2012, after spending more than a third of his sentence and despite repeated requests for parole, still is being kept in the prison.
This civil activist’s sentence of 9-year-imprisonment has been cut to 8 years imprisonment after the aggregate sentences was applied.
It should be noted that Ayat Mehrali Beyglu during his detention only once, and that came after the announcement of a hunger strike went on furlough. His request in that hunger strike was being transferred to Jolfa prison. But only after staying 45 days and counting his time of furlough, he was again returned to Tabriz prison.
Ayat Mehrali Beyglu was arrested along with Mahmoud Fazli, Shahram Radmehr, Latif Hassani and Behbood Gholizadeh, four other civil activists, in early 2012.
According to HRANA’s reporters, the charges against these activists have been announced as membership in the Central Committee of Gamoh (a political party), acting against national security, and propaganda against the regime.
Earlier on 10th May 2010, he was arrested in his home in Suffian, in Tabriz and had been transferred to Intelligence office in Tabriz.
This civil activist also was arrested at the funeral of Professor Zehtabi on 12th December 2002, and birthday ceremony for Babak in July 2004 and had been sentenced to imprisonment.
Ayat Mehrali Beyglu, former managing director of students’ paper called Ghopoz, is graduated in  Master of Management from Tarbiat Modarres University in Tehran.
