Hashmatollah Tabarzadi Still under Detention in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hashmatollah Tabarzadi, political activist who has been arrested on Tuesday, May 17, in the street and taken to Evin Prison is being kept in the prison in uncertainty. Mr. Tabarzadi’s family reported that new charges have been put on him and he might be tried soon.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hashmatollah Tabarzadi, political activist who has been arrested on Tuesday, May 17, in the street and taken to Evin Prison is kept in the prison in uncertainty His case is pending in Branch 26 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court.
A close source to his family pointed out: “Mr.Tabarzadi is kept in the prison in uncertainty. Despite promises of experts of the case, new charges have been put to him and the case is pending in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court.”
The source stressed in the end: “Mr. Tabarzadi considers country’s courts without independence and tends not to appear in court. He sees prolongation of his detention or a new verdict as the return to the initial conditions and violation of their obligations which the security system promised in return to breaking his hunger strike and accordingly has said that he would start again an unlimited hunger strike.”
It should be mentioned that Mr. Tabarzadi, was in interrogation sessions in Branch 2 of Shahid Moghadas court in Evin prison for 2 hours the day after being arrested.
On the Last Wednesday Night Celebration, “Charshanbeh Souri”, a summoning letter was sent to Mr.  Tabarzadi’s home by the Evin Court. He refused to take it and the summoning officers had announced that he was not at home.
It is to remind that Mr. Tabarzadi was released after nearly five and a half years imprisonment by applying Article 134 and integration of charges from Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on June 30, 2015.
Hashmatollah Tabarzadi is the Secretary of the Democratic Front of Iran and has a number of arrests and more than 10 years imprisonment in his case. He was arrested at noon on December 28, 2008 and was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment.
This journalist had been previously the director of some publications such as “Payame Daneshjo”, “Nedaye Daneshjo”, “Hoviate Khish” and “Gozareshe Rooz”.
