Front Line Defenders: Release Arash Sadeghi

HRANA News Agency – Front Line Defenders, an international human rights organization expressed their concern about the situation of Arash Sadeghi and demanded his immediate freedom.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on June 14, 2016, Front Line Defenders, in a statement addressing the sentence and imprisonment of the former student activist and human rights defender, Arash Sadeghi, by calling for an urgent action called on Iranian authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally.
Front Line Defenders, international human rights organizations expressed their concern about the 19-year-imprisonment sentence of Arash Sadeghi being confirmed and announced that the sentence was due to his peaceful activities in defense of human rights.
Front Line Defenders called on Iranian authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally and also to guarantee in all circumstances that human rights defenders will be able to continue their legal activities without fear of restriction.
Front Line Defenders is an organization to support human rights defenders which began its activity in 2001 in Dublin, Ireland. The organization’s main office is currently in Brussels and has other offices also in America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The organization provides practical and immediate support for human rights defenders at risk in different ways.
