Behnam Ibrahimzadeh is on Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ibrahimzadeh has started hunger strike in protest at being transfer to ward number one of Rajai Shahr prison.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam Ibrahimzadeh was transferred from ward number 12 that is dedicated to political prisoners to ward number one which is dedicated to criminals, after his court session on Wednesday December 3.

He has started his hunger strike and currently is in bad situation.

A close source told HRANA’s reporter, “Behnam is on hunger strike since 16 days ago and had been transferred to prison clinic two times because of law blood pressure.”

About the reason of hunger strike he said, “His only demand is to be transferred to ward 12, which is dedicated to political prisoners.”

Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, labour activist who has been sentenced to five years in prison on charge of collusion against the regime, is serving his fourth year at the moment.

He was arrested by security forces on June 12, 2010 and sentenced to 20 years in prison, by revolutionary court, and then at the court of appeal this sentence was reduced to 5 years.
