Behnam Ibrahimzadeh Deprived Of Proper Medical Treatment

HRANA News Agency – The arthritis of the neck is a disease that Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, the labour activist and political prisoner, was diagnosed with during his imprisonment. It has caused a distance between the fifth and sixth vertebrae in his neck, however he is deprived of medical furlough and permission for being transferred to a hospital.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, labour activist and political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, who has been diagnosed with arthritic of neck during his imprisonment, faces a problem on the fifth and sixth vertebrae on his neck due to the pressures during the imprisonment and lack of proper medical treatment, and in contrary with recommendation of the physician for surgery, the permission for being transferred to a hospital is not being given to him.

This labour activist who faces the complaints of one internal manager of the prison and another case has been opened for him, had already been sentenced to seven years and 10 months in prison. According to informed sources, this sentence is not submitted to this prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison yet.

Need to be mentioned, Behnam Ibrahimzadeh is kept in hall number 5 of section number 2 of Rajaei Shahr prison, which is called Dar-Al-Quran, among dangerous prisoners.

Behnam Ibrahimzadeh who is in prison for more than 5 years now following a new trial held last December, was first sentenced to 9 years and half imprisonment. This sentence was reduced to 7 years and 10 months and 18 days.

He is under arrest since 2009 and had been first sentenced to 20 years in prison in the revolutionary court, but this sentence was reduced to 5 years on the appeal court.
