Amir Amirgholi on the 10th Day of Hunger Strike in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Amir Amirgholi’s father whose son is on the 10th day of dry hunger in protest against his conditions in prison, by declaring that no action has been taken yet regarding his child’s condition, has urged for his freedom, by the administration of justice.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amir Amirgholi is one of the several prisoners who has gone on dry hunger strike to protest his condition in prison since Saturday morning, 9th April.
Mr. Amirgholi, father of this prisoner in a conversation with a reporter of HRANA said: “Amir is held in ward eight of Evin prison where most prisoners are foreigners. He has requested to be transferred from this ward based on the principle of separation of offenses, due to inappropriate health and hygiene condition and be in danger by living in the ward with prisoners who suffer from infection diseases such HIV and Hepatitis, but despite repeated requests and hunger strike, no action has been taken.”
At the end of the conversation he asked judicial officials to release his son.
Amir Amirgholi, former student activist and political prisoner in ward eight of Evin prison, was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by branch 15 of the revolutionary court presided over by judge Salvati on charges of “blasphemy”, “insulting the Supreme Leader”, “gathering and colluding to act against national security”, “disturbing public order by participating in gatherings” and “propaganda against the regime”. In accordance with the Article 134 of the Penal Code and the aggregation of crime, the maximum sentence can be up to seven years and a half. His Appeal Court Branch has not be determined yet.
