An Ahwazi Sunni activist is arrested

HRANA News Agency – Bagher Gholami, the Ahwazi Sunni activist, has been arrested by the intelligence office.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the intelligence agents have arrested Bagher Gholami on December 17, 2013 and transferred him to an unknown location.

 

This Arabic activist from Zargan in Northern Ahwaz had been arrested once in August 2012 with 8 other activists and was sentenced by branch 2 of revolutionary court of Ahwaz to 1 year imprisonment in Karoun prison on charge of “Holding gatherings for Salafi groups,” “Enmity with Shiism,” “Having Salafi thoughts” and “Contact with foreign countries and acting against national security through publishing Salafi thoughts.”

 

He was released last October after serving the sentence.

 

His wife was summoned to the intelligence office and threatened when we was in prison.
