Ahmad Karimi deprived of telephone calls and prison visits

HRANA News Agency- Ahmad Karimi, political prisoner in Gonbad Kawoos prison, is deprived of calling or visiting his family and relatives and has been moved to the worst ward of this prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ahmad Karimi, exiled political prisoner to Gonbad Kawoos prison, since 3 months ago was transferred to Ward 1 of this prison and has been held in very bad conditions.
This ward is dedicated to drug addicted prisoners and they take medications such as methadone and prison authoritys’ intention by this unusual relocation was punishing Ahmad Karimi.
An informed source in Gonbad Kawoos told HRANA’s reporter that; “Ahmad Karimi has been accused of abuse against the senior officials of Islamic Republic by prison officials and also that he has insulted the leadership, while this is a lie. He spent a period of time in solitary confinement after this accusation and then was transferred from ward 3 to ward 1 which is drug addicted prisoners’ ward where is full of cooties.”
This source continued; “Physical condition of Ahmad Karimi and Hadi Ghaemi, another political prisoner in Gonbad Kawoos prison, was described as critical”, and said: “They are deprived of the minimum health care in prison.”
In addition, on 22nd September, his family had gone from Karaj to Gonbad Kawoos for a visit and after insisting and begging, this political prisoner’s mother was allowed to meet his son just for few minutes. This visit took place while Ahmad Karimi has been forbidden of visit and telephone.
Remarkably, Ahmad Karimi is one of those that had gone to trial in a municipal court, which was a show, after elections in June 2009 and by Judge Salvati, was sentenced to death. It was while he was detained before the elections.
Ahmad Karimi’s sentence was reduced on Appeal Court to 15 years in prison and exile to Gonbad Kawoos.
