Abbas Sadeghpour Arrested and Transferred to Gachsaran Prison

HRANA News Agency – Abbas Sadeghpour, civil activist, has been arrested and sent to Gachsaran prison to serve his six month imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mr. Abbas Sadeghpour, resident of Deil village of Gachsaran, in Kohkiloyeh and Boyer Ahmad province, had been arrested along with 7 other youth from his village in December 2014 by the Revolutionary Guards, on charges of publishing and distribution statement against the government, and their homes were searched and inspected.

An informed source, in this regard, told HRANA’s reporter: “After an intense search in their homes and discovering some things like equipment for satellite TV, and even checking all their mobile phone’s messages, they divided the charges into; political and security department and General offences, and sent them to two different court branches. Political charges were propaganda against the regime through the statements and insulting Intelligence agents via SMS, and non-political charges, were such as satellite equipment storage, and so on, and for some of them, still no verdict has been issued.”

According to this source, Mr. Sadeghpour has told that; in objection to this sentence he would go on hunger strike from the time of his arrest.

It should be noted that Mojtaba Pourhassan, Abbas Sadeghpour, Hamid Bozorg Zadeh, Hamid Mazaheri, Ehsan Arshadi, Mohammad Reza Mobarakie Deil, Alireza Nezhad, and Mehran Zaki Nezhad, eight young people from the village of Deil of Gachsaran, in Kohkiloyeh and Boyer Ahmad, were arrested by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in December 2014, on charge of publishing and distributing statements against the government and leadership.
