2 Labor Activists Arrested in Saghez and Mahabad

HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Salehi and Osman Esmaeili, two labour activists, were arrested on the eve of International Workers’ day.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), in the afternoon of Tuesday 28th April, security forces arrested Mahmood Salehi and Osman Esmaeili, two labor activists.

Security officers went to Mahmood Salehi’s house and searched his home and arrested him. They also arrested Osman Esmaeili when he was doing construction works.

Mahmoud Salehi is a labor activist from Saghez city that already has a record of arrests and imprisonment and Osman Esmaili is a construction worker and spokesman and a member of the Council of Defending Imprisoned Workers in Mahabad city.

According to HRANA, on Saturday 25th April, Reza Amjadi, labour activist and a member of the Coordinating Committee to Help Form Workers’ Organization in Sanandaj, also was arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

There is no detailed information available so far, about their charges.
