Supreme Court sent back the cases of 8 Sunnis

HRANA News Agency – The Supreme Court has sent the cases of 8 Sunnis who were sentenced to death to the branch 27 of revolutionary court.

 

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the cases of Pourya Mohammadi, Omid Peyvand, Mokhtar Rahimi, Bahman Rahimi, Mohammad Yavar Rahimi, Shahram Ahmadi, Mohammad Gharibi and Faramarz Shah Nazari have been sent back by the Supreme Court not accepting the death sentenced issued by the revolutionary court.

 

These 8 prisoners have been sentenced to death by judge Mogheyse the head of the branch 28 of the revolutionary court of Tehran on charge of acting against the national security and enmity with the God through membership in Salafi groups.

 

A relative of these 8 prisoners told to HRANA: “They had no weapons and no confession about having weapons. The judge has sentenced them to death according to his own knowledge. They have been charged with membership in Salafi groups while they are all Shafei.”

 

“These Sunnis are imprisoned only because of propagating their religion.” He said.

These political prisoners are kept in the hall 10 of ward 4 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
